GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Crews with Blalock and Sons, who have been contracted through the Tennessee Department of Transportation to perform the resurfacing of Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg, have postponed the start of its work schedule until Sunday, May 3. Work was previously scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 26.
Crews will start by milling the roadway near Traffic Light No. 1, then continue along the rest of the Parkway ahead of paving operations.
Paving and milling work will take place Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until the project is completed.
Motorists should be aware that temporary delays are possible during work hours. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the area, watch for signage and lane shifts, and remain mindful of crews working along the roadway.
