Hidden Hills Waterline Improvements project to begin

GATLINBURG, Tenn.— A project to improve waterlines in the Hidden Hills neighborhood will begin the week of March 23.

Crews will start mobilizing and performing off-roadway work during the week of March 23. Roadway work is expected to begin by March 27. Construction will start near the intersection of King Road and Cardinal Drive and will continue in sections along Hidden Hills Road, Robin Lane, Whippoorwill Drive, Mockingbird Drive, and Cline Drive.

As work progresses into the roadway, motorists should expect brief delays and periodic single-lane closures. Traffic control measures, including flaggers, will be in place. Drivers are urged to use caution and remain alert for crews working in the area.

The project includes replacing approximately 3,500 linear feet of aging waterlines and installing new ductile iron pipe and hydrants. Much of the existing infrastructure is more than 60 years old. Replacing these lines will help reduce frequent water breaks and improve the reliability of the water distribution system. The project will also transition the area to a new pressure system.

Construction is expected to be completed by July 2026.
