GATLINBURG, Tenn.—The City of Gatlinburg Police Department proudly welcomed two new officers to its ranks during a swearing-in ceremony held this week.

 

Officers Eduardo Acevedo and Ronell Meier officially took the oath of office, marking the beginning of their service to the citizens and visitors of Gatlinburg. The ceremony was attended by Police Department leadership, family members, and City officials to celebrate this important milestone in the officers’ careers as they start their career with the Gatlinburg Police Department.

 

Municipal Judge Jerry McCarter administered the oath and Police Chief Ronnie Barrett expressed his confidence in the department’s newest members.

“We are proud to welcome Officers Acevedo and Meier to the Gatlinburg Police Department,” said Chief Ronnie Barrett. “Each of them has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving others and upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and dedication that define our department. I am confident they will serve our community with honor and distinction.”

 

Officers Acevedo and Meier will begin their field training as they prepare to serve the community. The Gatlinburg Police Department remains committed to recruiting and developing highly qualified individuals who are dedicated to public safety and community partnership.
