Snow Scene

GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Snowfall overnight, continuing into the morning hours, has resulted in hazardous driving conditions throughout the City of Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg Police Department is advising residents and visitors to avoid unnecessary travel.

Due to the winter weather, several City services are impacted on Saturday, January 31:

·      Gatlinburg Trolley Services will not operate.

·      Gatlinburg Community Center is closed.

·      Heiden Drive Convenience Center is closed.

·      Sanitation Department garbage pickup has been delayed.

Residents are encouraged to use caution and prioritize safety during winter weather conditions. As bitterly cold temperatures arrive today and overnight, residents are reminded to take steps to prevent their pipes from freezing which include:

·      Making sure water keeps moving through your home or businesses pipes by allowing a small trickle of water to run.

·      Opening cabinet doors to expose pipes to warmer room temperatures.

·      Check irrigation systems and make sure those systems have been drained and turned off and disconnect all hoses from outside faucets.
