GATLINBURG, Tenn.— The Gatlinburg Police Department is proud to announce its participation in the annual Special Olympics Tip-A-Cop event, a statewide fundraiser supporting Special Olympics athletes through the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
During the event, Gatlinburg Police officers will team up with the Pigeon Forge Police Department to join restaurant servers to wait and bus tables, engaging with guests to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics programs. The event is on Tuesday, October 7 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse in Pigeon Forge. Officers will share information about the Special Olympics mission and the critical role of law enforcement in supporting these athletes.
This event is also a friendly fundraising competition for the GPD and PFPD, against the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the Sevierville Police Department, who will be serving simultaneously at the Sevierville Texas Roadhouse location.
All proceeds raised during the Tip-A-Cop event directly benefit Special Olympics athletes, helping provide year-round sports training, competitions, and health initiatives.
“We are honored to support Special Olympics and look forward to engaging with the community in a fun and meaningful way,” said Gatlinburg Police Chief Ronnie Barrett. “This event is a great opportunity to come together for a wonderful cause.”
Community members are encouraged to dine at Texas Roadhouse in Pigeon Forge on October 7 to support GPD and contribute to this impactful initiative.
