Sunday hours and operations at the Gatlinburg Community Center will resume on September 13.
Effective this Sunday, the Community Center will operate between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays. This includes the swimming pool, gymnasium, Tone Zone workout area and Bowling Center.
The Parks and Recreation Department’s Dance, martial arts and scuba classes have also resumed, effective immediately.
Playgrounds at Mynatt, Mills and Herbert Holt Parks have also reopened, effective immediately. The Parks and Recreation Department urges those using the playgrounds to continue to follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and wash hands frequently.
All patrons entering the Community Center should be prepared to answer questions regarding potential symptoms of COVID-19, including if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case, if they are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat, if they have had a fever in the past 48 hours, if they have a new loss of taste or smell or if they have experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours.
Community Center staff will sanitize all equipment, touch-point surfaces and restrooms every two hours. The Community Center is also requiring parent or guardian supervision for all children when participating in recreational activities to ensure that children can comply with the applicable guidelines.
