GATLINBURG, Tenn.— Gatlinburg residents and business owners can now keep up with garbage collection schedules and how to properly dispose or recycle household waste through their mobile devices.
Sevier Solid Waste has developed an app which compiles the garbage pickup times for addresses within the County’s three municipalities. Information on the pickup days and times are provided by each City.
Users simply enter in their address into the App interface and will receive a schedule of pickup dates for the next three months. The application also provides users the ability to enable notifications to receive reminders regarding garbage collection schedules and service alerts. Users have the capability to set their reminders to a certain time either the day before or the day of garbage collection.
The other component built into the application is educational in nature and available for all Sevier County residents, even those who do not live in the corporate boundaries of the three municipalities. Users can use the ‘Waste Wizard’ and search for any items and receive instructions on how to properly dispose of those items, including dropoff points for the waste. The application’s interface also ties into the device’s map applications to provide GPS-guided directions to the dropoff point.
The free app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or from the Google Play Store on mobile devices and tablets by searching for “Sevier Solid Waste”.
A web-based version of the Sevier Solid Waste app can also be accessed at http://www.SevierSolidWaste.com or https://www.gatlinburgtn.gov/departments/sanitation/streets_sanitation.php
