The Gatlinburg Community Center is continuing its phased reopening with several adjustments being made to its operations.
Effective immediately, the workout areas of the Community Center are increasing capacity from eight individuals at one time in one area to 10 individuals at one time. The swimming pool now also opens at 7 a.m. each day.
On July 6, the Community Center will resume its water aerobics classes in the swimming pool. Classes wil be held from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Classes are limited to 10 participants.
Beginning on Saturday, July 11, the Community Center will resume its Saturday operations. The building will open at 10 a.m. for pool and workout usage. The Bowling Center will open at 11 a.m. The Community Center will close at 6 p.m. each Saturday.
The Community Center is open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
All patrons entering the Community Center should be prepared to answer questions regarding potential symptoms of COVID-19, including if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case, if they are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat, if they have had a fever in the past 48 hours, if they have a new loss of taste or smell or if they have experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours.
Community Center staff will sanitize all equipment, touch-point surfaces and restrooms every two hours. The Community Center is also requiring parent or guardian supervision for all children when participating in recreational activities to ensure that children can comply with the applicable guidelines.
