GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Baskins Creek Road is expected to be reopened for traffic on June 12, according to the project engineer.
Additional work is continuing on the project, including completion of channel walls and wing walls, over the course of the next week, before the roadway can be reopened and passable for vehicles on June 12. After the road has reopened, temporary closures are possible as paving and other work is finished to complete the project.
The project had an original completion date of February 28, however the flooding event on February 6, 2020 delayed work on the project, and created additional damages along the roadway, after construction had already begun on the project in December 2019.
