City Commission to hold special called meeting on May 7

GATLINBURG, Tenn.— The Gatlinburg City Commission will meet on May 7, 2020 in a special called meeting at 10 a.m.

The meeting will take place in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order No. 16, which addresses open meetings and allows flexibility for local governments to conduct essential business amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
City Commissioners will be participating in the meeting electronically via Zoom. Information for viewing the meeting will be posted on the Gatlinburg City Hall door, the City’s website at and the City’s Facebook page. 
The lone agenda item is to discuss and consider the approval of a partial closure of Parkway from Traffic Light No. 6 to Reagan Drive intersection effective at noon on Friday, May 8 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. 
Public comment can be sent via email to or placed in the drop box at City Hall and copies will be distributed to commissioners.
Meeting electronically and limiting public access to the meeting is necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare in light of COVID-19. The City of Gatlinburg plans to return to in-person meetings as soon as possible.
