GATLINBURG, Tenn.—The City of Gatlinburg will be conducting sidewalk replacements along Parkway, between Greystone Heights Bridge and the bridge leading to the Margaritaville Hotel starting on Monday, August 30.
As part of the construction process, the sidewalk between the two bridges will be removed and replaced. Also included in the Project are the installation of handicap curb cuts on the Greystone Heights Bridge. Whaley Construction is the contractor for the project.
Motorists traveling south on Parkway will experience some lane closures throughout the sidewalk removal and replacement. The curbside lane, which feeds traffic onto Greystone Heights Road, will be closed throughout the project. Motorists can still access the two inside lanes in this section of Parkway. Traffic will still be able to access Greystone Heights Road and River Road from Parkway during construction.
The sidewalk replacement is estimated to be under construction from August 30 through early October.
