GATLINBURG, Tenn.—
The Gatlinburg Fire Department has received a $1,000 donation from Trial By Fire author Allen Robbins.

Robbins is the Superintendent of Sevier County Electric System and penned the book detailing the night of the November 28, 2016 Wildfires from his perspective, as well as those electric system employees who were on the frontlines that evening.

Robbins presented a $1,000 check to Gatlinburg Fire Chief Charlie Cole and members of the fire department. Robbins is donating profits from the book sales to those organizations who were instrumental in the recovery from the fires.

“I was proud of you all,” said Robbins, who addressed members of the Gatlinburg Fire Department during the check presentation. “Everybody did what they had to do that night. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you all.”

Cole expressed his appreciation of the donation to the fire department.

“We are very appreciative of this donation,” Cole said. “We will be placing the funds in the Gatlinburg Fire Fighters Association, for our fire prevention outreach programs.”
