Gatlinburg in the running for Dog Park Dash grant

 GATLINBURG, Tenn.—The City of Gatlinburg recently submitted an application to be considered for a Tennessee Dog Park Dash grant.

And now we need your help.

Gatlinburg is one of 20 communities across the state which qualified for the Social Engagement Phase of the Grant Application process, which runs through May 31. There are two ways for individuals to participate in the process to show their support toward’s Gatlinburg’s Dog Park Application. Individuals can write a letter of support and submit it to the Tennessee Dog Park Dash by visiting http://www.dogparkdash.com/support. Support can also be shown on social media platforms, by sharing a photo or video of their dog, while mentioning their support of the Gatlinburg Dog Park with the hashtag #dogparkdash2021 in the post.

Gatlinburg has planned a Dog Park, which will be constructed at Mills Park. The Gatlinburg City Commission approved a contract with FTM Contracting, LLC. at its April 20 meeting. Construction on the Dog Park is scheduled to begin soon, with estimated completion of the Project set for early September 2021.

The Tennessee Dog Park Dash Grant Program, administered by the Boyd Foundation, has a mission to allocate $3 million across the state to help make Tennessee the most pet friendly state in the Country.
