Knoxville Chapter PGA honors Gatlinburg Golf Course's Poff

GATLINBURG, Tenn.—Gatlinburg Golf Course Assistant Professional Matthew Poff has recently been honored by the Knoxville Chapter of the Professional Golf Association.

Poff, who has been with the Gatlinburg Golf Course since August 2014, was honored by the Knoxville Chapter of the PGA as its Assistant Golf Professional of the Year. The Knoxville Chapter of the PGA is comprised of a 16-county region in East Tennessee.

“The City is thrilled that Matthew has been recognized with a great honor,” Gatlinburg City Manager Cindy Cameron Ogle said. “Matthew has been a great asset to the Gatlinburg Golf Course since he joined the City in 2014. It is good to see his strong leadership and organizational skills, which have continued to help the Golf Course succeed, being rewarded by the Knoxville Chapter of the PGA.”

As chairperson of the Knoxville Chapter’s Assistant Golf Professional Committee Poff created play days, provided networking opportunities and assisted with developing Professional Golf Management Program Curriculum.

Poff is a graduate of Tusculum University in Greeneville, where he lettered on the school’s golf team for four years.
