The City of Gatlinburg’s Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all of its summer day camps scheduled for July.
With the top priority being the safety and well-being of patrons and employees and using CDC recommendations as a guideline, the Parks and Recreation Department made the decision to cancel the four camps scheduled for July. The Department made the decision after considering many options to determine if camps could be held with proper social distancing, appropriate sanitization protocols and other safety measures.
June Day Camps were previously postponed earlier this spring.
“We recognize how important camps are to our residents and we are truly saddened to have to cancel for the summer,” Parks and Recreation Director Laurence Evans said. “Ultimately, it is the best decision for the safety and health of our community.”
